Many organizations underestimate the difficulties connected by using a knowledge management system (KMS). To higher comprehend the character of those challenges, this case explains the knowledge management struggles of the condition governmental agency within the US: Technology Project Authority (TPA). The case concentrates on the 3 primary phases from the TPA's knowledge management strategy, between 2004 and 2008. Pressurized to enhance its business ways to sustain its knowledge of IT project management, TPA implemented two KMS throughout the time covered within the case. Ultimately, the 2nd KMS was still being not used as intended. Giving our teaching objectives, students are requested to look for the qualities of the business atmosphere favorable to knowledge management activities, to judge the proper alignment from the KMS, and also to advise a customized approach to analysis and re-engineering to have an integrated system like the KMS needed at TPA.
